about
I have an honours degree in philosophy with cognate studies in English, which helped shape the way my mind works. I’m good at analysing concepts, structuring things into a coherent whole, working out what’s important, seeing what’s not working and coming up with solutions.
I started off my professional life in libraries and still have the librarian gene. I’m organised and orderly and believe in attention to detail. The small stuff matters. I don’t even think it’s an insult to be called pedantic. I have my eye on the big picture too.
Years of working in brand and communications has given me a strong understanding of marketing. I’ve worked as part of a large team and also on my own in specialist communications positions within the government and in private enterprise. Yes, I’ve experienced the joys of bureaucracy! Luckily, now I can focus on the part that's most fun and rewarding – the writing.
I also write young adult novels as Susanna Rogers. I have a second degree black belt in kickboxing and teach martial arts. So you'll be safe if you hang around me.
